WHAT’S NEW IN THE CAFETERIA?

Kittery School Department is happy to announce the start of a new breakfast program!

Starting February  25, 2008, breakfast will be available to students every morning before the start of the school day.  Children wishing to purchase breakfast should go immediately to the cafeteria upon arrival in the morning.

This has come to our attention as a need for many students in our schools.  Currently, our schools sell a limited variety of breakfast items to students “ala carte” which is available to all students at a cost .  With a federally subsidized breakfast program, all students will have the option to purchase a qualifying school breakfast. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch will automatically qualify for breakfast benefits in the same category.

Breakfast Prices:   Paid Students - $1.00
Reduced price to qualified students - $ .30
Free to those who qualify for free lunch
 Adults: $1.25

A school breakfast includes: 1 to 2 oz. bread/grain serving, a 4 oz. fruit or juice serving, and an 8 oz. serving of milk.  There may also be proteins offered, such as eggs or yogurt.  Students must  use their NutriKids accounts for all meal and food purchases.
