Music Is A Celebration Of Life!
Welcome to Mitchell Primary and to Frisbee Elementary School's music department.
My primary focus in teaching music to grades kindergarten through fourth grade is to have fun while developing auditory listening skills through the use of rhythm instruments, song, creative movement as well as self discovery.
Some highlights of the program include the playing of the recorder, biographies of famous composers, listening to music of different periods as well as the history of rock. Throughout the year you might even catch us doing the Mexican Hat Dance, the Virginia Reel, or even the Bunny Hop!
In addition to our classroom instruction, the children also participate in the children's chorus that is designed to share what they have learned about performance skills in public concerts held throughout the year. The children appear in uniform dress complete with matching bow ties.
We celebrate accomplishments great and small on a daily basis, as each child is a reminder of the good that exists in the world. Remember to keep a song in your heart . . . tra, la, la.
