Charge to the Mitchell/Shapleigh Building Committee

The Building Committee shall:

1.      Recommend to the School Committee, as appropriate, the project design and construction professionals;
2.      Oversee the process for building design, plans, permitting and project approvals;
3.      Ensure that all plans and procedures are in compliance with federal and state laws and local ordinances;
4.      Ensure that the project creates a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment;
5.      Ensure that the project incorporates cost effective design elements of energy efficiency and technology;
6.      Recommend to the School Committee approval of project requisitions and payments;
7.      Regularly apprise the School Committee of progress on the project; and
8.      Present a final written and oral report to the School Committee at the completion of the project.
