Dear Community Member,
As you shift directions into the fall season, are you at a crossroads wondering which direction to go next? The Kittery Adult Education Program is here to help you out.
For those of you wanting to get prepared for a future direction, we have some great programs to help you get started. We will be offering the Office Skills Certificate Program to improve your basic employability skills. For those with good typing and computer skills, we will be introducing a Medical Transcription Certificate Program this fall. This 16 week program will give you all the tools and skills you need to work as a medical transcriptionist! Come to an informational night on Sept. 10 to learn more about this program. We have free career counseling to help you figure out which direction is right for you.
If you find you are stuck and are unable to move in a future direction without your high school diploma, we offer GED preparation classes and high school diploma courses so you can complete high school and move forward in your life. If you are heading towards college, but need to brush up on some skills to get there, we offer college preparation classes.
Want to learn more about the past? How about coming to our Civil War series? You will have a chance “to meet” Sarah Parker Rice Goodwin, the wife of New Hampshire’s Civil War governor, learn about local Civil War nurses, explore different perspectives, and remember the Kittery men who fought in the Civil War. And don’t miss our “Dancing on Broadway” night where we feature the remarkable dance careers of Dean Diggins and Patti Cherry!
Why not stop what you are doing and come enjoy the present with us this fall. Discover all that we have to offer at the Kittery Adult Education Program! Whether it’s “Plein Air” painting in the afternoon , taking a geological walk along the Marginal Way, learning to strum your old guitar, preparing Italian delicacies or crafting a seaglass ring, you will find a direction that is right for you.
